[blockquote source=”Hebrews 9:22 (NIV)“]In fact, according to the law of Moses, nearly everything was purified with blood. For without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness.[/blockquote]
Blood is a symbol of life. It is blood that keeps us alive. Jesus gave his blood so that we could live. So that we can do the right thing. The thing that we are all called to do.
The Thing to Do
And that’s to love one another like how He loves us.
What is Love
What does “love another” means?
Does it mean that I have to love you? Does it mean I have to love that homeless guy on the street? Does it mean I have to love that woman who annoys me? Does it mean I have to love my inconsiderate neighbors who dump their trash near my place? Does it mean I have to love the guy who cuts into my lane when driving? Does it mean I have to love the competition who took away my business? I searched for that meaning for the longest time and I think I have found the answer.
Love means to use my talents to add value to your life. By doing that means I love you. So, if you need a wake-up call and if I do not use my skills to kick you in the rear, then it would mean that I do not love you.
So today, I’m going to do just that.
Everyone of us is created for a purpose. That purpose has a value. It could be in the form of bettering the lives of others, it could be providing care and attention to your children, it could be helping others unlock their potential, it could be helping others get out of an addiction.
[blockquote source=”Steve Jobs”]Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice.[/blockquote]
Father we thank You for Your unfailing love. For the blood of Your Son. We pray that we will step up to serve others by showing our love for one another. In Jesus name, Amen.
